Strategic Communications Workshops train participants to translate strategic thinking into compelling communications. The courses are designed for people who need to transmit ideas, solutions and information in various communication formats that engage their audiences and stay on message.
The workshop improves the analytic fluency and messaging skills of participants and targets professionals of all levels and functions. For senior executives, the workshops develop the ability to synthesize complex issues, define goals and strategy, and project a compelling narrative. For junior staff, most heavily involved in–and sometimes overwhelmed by– information and analysis, the workshop teaches how to define the key message of a project/deliverable and organize the information needed to logically structure and support it.
Techniques taught in the workshop are immediately applicable; by the end of a workshop, a participant will be able to efficiently
- define the critical narrative, structured by key issues
- plan and execute a persuasive communication strategy
- construct storyboards to control narrative flow and message
- organize relevant data to support conclusions/recommendations
- articulate and use audience expectations to keep listeners and
readers engaged
Conducted as a highly interactive workshop using participants’ own work when possible, the course helps participants internalize and apply a set of common standards to their own work and the work of colleagues, especially important for senior people seeking leverage. Workshops are typically one and a half days for 10-15 people.
